The energy certificate for renting

To rent out a flat, a shop or an office you need the energy performance certificate, and its label has to appear in the listing. It is signed by a qualified technician: we put you in touch with energy certifiers in Alicante.

What the regulations say

  • It is signed by a qualified technician (engineer, architect or building surveyor) after visiting the property.
  • In the Valencian Community it is registered with IVACE before renting.
  • It is valid for 10 years.
  • The label has to appear in every listing.
  • Not having one can mean fines of up to €6,000.
  • Guide price: from €45 to €400 plus VAT, depending on the property.
